Performs a full range of professional veterinary duties, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, and surgery. Considerable independent judgment is used to make decisions in carrying out assignments, having a significant impact on service. Veterinarians may function as lead workers or senior workers. Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases.
- Performs routine medical examinations, selects appropriate and cost-effective diagnostic procedures, and establishes appropriate therapeutic protocols.
- Performs routine and specialized surgeries. Asks for advice or assistance when necessary.
- Performs routine dental cleanings, oral health assessments and treatments. Comfortable with tooth extractions.
- Recommends and uses medically appropriate and cost-effective laboratory testing to assist in establishing diagnosis. Possesses knowledge to interpret these tests properly.

Midtown Veterinary Hospital is searching for a new full-time veterinarian to help our busy AAHA Accredited Houston practice. Located in the Midtown/Montrose junction, we offer a gold-standard of care and come fully equipped with digital radiology and ultrasound. Our practice is in a renovated home in Montrose, where we offer excellent quality care of medicine and provide thorough, compassionate communication with our clients. Still operating under curbside protocols due to the COVID pandemic, we still require staff to wear masks and only allow clients to enter the building for euthanasias.
We are a general practice seeing cats and dogs only. We do not perform orthopedic surgeries and do not offer boarding or grooming. Anesthetic procedures range from spays/neuters to various soft tissue surgeries and comprehensive dental evaluations, treatment and cleanings. One fully equipped surgical suite and two dental suites. We have suction, cautery, digital radiology and digital dental radiographs.
