The Animal Hospital of Springfield, LLC is searching for a full-time or part-time veterinary technician.
- Part-time schedule is flexible.
- Full-time Schedule can be flexible with a preference for Monday - Friday 8 am-5 pm (1 hr lunch) and every other Saturday 8 am-2 pm with a weekday off when working Saturday.
We are located within Petsmart, though we are a privately owned full-service veterinary hospital for dogs and cats.
Job duties include animal care, restraint, blood draws, in-house lab testing, catheter placement, assist in surgeries, and prepare surgical sterilization packs.
Our records are digital and we utilize EVetpractice software with Heska in-house blood machines, Cuattro HD DR Digital Radiography, with a surgical suite (i.e. OVH, Castration, enterotomy, gastrotomy, GDV, splenectomy, cystotomy, etc) and dental suite (ultrasonic cleaning, extractions, fistula repairs, etc).

Our ideal job candidate must have skills with animal restraint, customer service experience, can multi-task, have excellent communication skills, willing to learn medical terminology to type medical record entries, and be comfortable with lifting 40 lbs.

Our medical records are digital and we utilize EVetpractice software for easy online access to your pet's medical record and online pharmacy needs. We have in-house blood machines (results in 30 minutes), HD DR Digital Radiography (X-rays can be sent straight to your email), with a surgical suite for a variety of soft tissue procedures such as enterotomy, gastrotomy, gastropexy, GDV, colopexy, c-section, perineal urethrostomy, splenectomy, cystotomy, spay, and neuter.
We are especially proud of our new dental suite for ultrasonic cleaning, extractions, fistula repairs, etc. We have invested in heated surgery cages for the comfort of your pet following anesthesia and any critical care needs. We have an oxygen/nebulizer cage should the need arise (heart failure, asthma, pneumonia, etc).
