Wendi Lilly-Bare DVM

Veterinarian and Owner

Hello! I'm Dr. Wendi Lilly-Bare. I attended the University of South Carolina Honors College, where I graduated in 1998. I then went on to study at Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine and earned my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.

I began my career in veterinary medicine while still in college, working as a veterinary assistant at Elam Animal Hospital in Forest Acres. After graduating from vet school, I continued at Elam Animal Hospital from 2003 to December 2004. In January 2005, I joined Two Notch Road Animal Clinic, and in 2008, I purchased Pet Friends, a satellite clinic of Two Notch Road Animal Clinic. Since then, I've owned and grown Pet Friends Veterinary Clinic into a thriving practice.

I am greatly involved the professional veterinary community and am a proud member of numerous organizations, including:

Favorite Part of my Job

While it’s always an accomplishment to help a sick or injured pet, I find great satisfaction in detecting issues before they fully present as problems. Witnessing the incredible bond people share with their pets and understanding how vital they are to each other is a truly amazing experience.

Why I chose this profession

I have a deep passion for medicine and love caring for animals, with a strong focus on improving their health and strengthening the human-animal bond. Preventative and wellness care are essential to catching problems early and addressing them before they become serious, and I love getting to help pet owners make the right care decisions for their pets.

Personal Hobbies & Interests

I enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors. I am married with two little girls, and my family keeps me busy alongside operating my veterinary clinic. I also enjoy supporting causes like Relay for Life. Our family includes one cat, Mr. Pickles, and two dogs, Dobbsy and Tequi. Additionally, we have several animal staff members who live on-site at the clinic.
