Veterinarian
Hi there! I'm Dr. Rachel Roschi. I earned my undergraduate degree in Biology from Carthage College in 2020 and completed my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois in 2024.
I'm proud to hold a number of veterinary certifications that enhance my ability to support the needs of my teammates and every animal that I see in the clinic.
- AVMA Brave Space Certification (2021): This certification taught me how to create healthier, safer, and more inclusive veterinary teams, practices, and organizations.
- Fear Free Certification (2022): I gained tools and knowledge to address different levels of fear, anxiety, and stress, improving client communication and workplace safety.
- Advanced Life Support (Recover): Certified by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2022, I learned how to provide CPR to dogs and cats.
Favorite Part of my Job
My favorite part of the job is forming bonds with patients and clients to provide the best care possible. During veterinary school, I was honored with the ‘Excellence in Small Animal Internal Medicine’ award, which reflects my areas of special interest: internal medicine and surgery.
Why I chose this profession
I chose veterinary medicine because it combined my two passions of science and animals. My interest solidified in high school when I shadowed at my local animal hospital, and since then, I’ve been dedicated to this field for eight years, working in various capacities.
Personal Hobbies & Interests
Outside of work, I love to hike and kayak with my 3-year-old Australian Cattle dog. I also enjoy weight lifting and practicing yoga, which help me maintain a balanced and active lifestyle.
