Veterinarian
Dr. Striyle grew up in Kansas City, KS and knew from the age of five that she wanted to work with animals. She got her first job as a kennel assistant right out of high school and earned her DVM from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine. After practicing in Lake Havasu, AZ for several years, Dr. Striyle met her husband and relocated to Phoenix, and has been working at 43rd Avenue Animal Hospital since 1999. In addition to helping pets, Dr. Striyle says her favorite part of the job is interacting with families and the team here.
Dr. Striyle shares her home with her husband, son and a pack of pets. They include Pestoe (yes, with an “e” at the end) who was an injured stray with broken toes, who needed three surgeries, but eventually adopted Dr. Strylie’s family and became especially attached to her son. She also has her running buddy Strootl, a spunky 6 year old Jack Russel Terrier and Lego, a Aussie Doodle.
Dr. Striyle makes being with family a priority, but enjoys yoga, hiking, stand-up paddle boarding and is an avid runner in her free time. She also loves learning and participates in close to 200 hours of continuing veterinary education every year.
