Dr. Augenstein grew up in Oklahoma from the age of 6.
She knew from a very young age that she wanted to either be a veterinarian or a singer. The animals won out.
She attended Oklahoma State University and received her B.S. in Zoology in 1988 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. With her sister living in Las Vegas, it seemed the right thing to move out here to join D’Layne and her family.
It was the best thing! Dr. Auggie has one cat now, Tamish Monkey, that is her shadow when she is home. Panther Roo had to pass over the Rainbow Bridge in June of 2019. She met her husband, Robert, and they were married in 2016. Together, they have a chihuahua-terrier mix, T’La Louise. They also have a pug, Remi Nell, who lives with her in-laws that moved here from Florida. All of her pets were adopted from her previous hospital where she practiced for over 24 years.
She is excited to join the wonderful staff of Oasis Animal Hospital. While she loves medicine, dentistry has become an important part of her practice.
She does not do orthopedic surgeries and will happily refer to a local surgeon if the need arises. Her husband is extremely understanding of her willingness to spend time at the hospital, researching a case, or reaching out to the specialists when needed.
She loves meeting new people and hopes to make some exciting changes at Oasis Animal Hospital.
