Hannah Plaugher DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Hannah Plaugher joined our hospital in 2018. She graduated from Potomac State College with an A.A. In pre-veterinary medicine, then received a B.S. In Animal + Nutritional Sciences from West Virginia University. Dr. Plaugher graduated from Mississippi State University in 2018 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

She received the “Gentle Doctor Award” from Mi. State in 2018, and is a proud member of the AAEP, AVMA, VVMA, and WVVMA. Dr. Plaugher's veterinary interests include equine reproduction, ophthalmology, wound management, nutrition, preventative medicine, and end-of-life care/pain management. She also enjoys community outreach and education in her home town 4H horse club, or showing prospective/current students what being an ambulatory vet is all about!

Growing up in the small, rural town of Franklin, WV on a tiny horse farm, she often took in strays of various sorts (puppies, calves, lambs, goat kids) of which can still be found living on her parents farm!

Dr. Plaugher has 3 rescued Weimaraners named “Wrigley, “June Bug”, and “Captain Jack”. She also has a bottle-raised goat named “Hank” and last but not least, 4 horses, “Oliver”, “Mayberry”, “Truvy”, and the horse that inspired her to pursue veterinary medicine, “Kodak”.

Outside of veterinary work, Dr. Plaugher enjoys horseback riding (showing), fishing, photography, being outdoors with her dogs, spending time in WVA with her family, and watching WVU Mountaineers and MSU Bulldogs play football!
