Veterinarian
Dr. Sophia Jakymiw joined our team in 2017. Dr. Jakymiw grew up in Huntington Beach where she volunteered at the Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center and worked as a veterinary assistant at a small animal hospital for 4 years while in high school and attending college. She received her Bachelor of Biological Sciences degree from the University of California Irvine in 2010 and graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. After completing veterinary school she returned to Huntington Beach and worked in general practice. She then went on to complete a rotating internship in small animal emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and oncology in Upland, CA. Her professional interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and wildlife rehabilitation. In her free time she enjoys traveling, hiking, paddle boarding, and reading.
