"I am elated to have a place to call my own, it has been my dream since I finished school. It allows me to practice an incredible quality of medicine, bond with the families and their pets and be part of a great community."
- Dr. Jessica Torok
I'm Dr. Jess Torok, the Medical Director at Urban Veterinary Associates in Westmont. With fifteen years of experience as a practicing veterinarian, I've developed a deep passion for surgery and for building trust and rapport with my clients. This was a key aspect I missed during my corporate tenure, especially the ability to closely work with families to determine what's best for their pets.
Dr. Jessica Torok DVM
Urban Veterinary Associates
My passion for surgery is rooted in my previous experience as a surgical tech in the Navy, a role I held for several years before attending veterinary school. In total, I've spent about ten years working as a surgical tech, both in the military and as a civilian. My experience spans various fields, including plastics, orthopedics, and open-heart surgery. This diverse background has significantly contributed to my expertise and credentials as a veterinarian surgeon.
For the past fourteen years, I've been a member of the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Additionally, I chair the Downtown West Business Association, a committee of the Westmont Chamber of Commerce, and am an active member of the Westmont Lions Club. I'm also involved in volunteer activities, such as making blankets for people facing homelessness.
When I'm not at work, you might find me scuba diving, singing, or playing guitar at an open mic night at Johnny's. I'm proud of our team of veterinarians at Urban Veterinary Associates. Since our inception in 2017, we've experienced tremendous growth. I look forward to continuing our partnership with you and providing the best care for your pets.
