Veterinarian
Hi! I’m Dr. Genevieve Bergman, a seasoned veterinarian with a passion for animals and a wealth of experience in both equine and small animal medicine.
My story begins at the University of Minnesota, where I pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Biology after initially starting in marketing. My academic journey wasn't just about gaining knowledge; it was about finding my true calling. It was during this time that I studied Equine Locomotion at the University of Bristol in England, igniting my fascination with equine medicine.
Upon earning my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, specializing in the Equine Track, I embarked on a fulfilling career path. My first step was an internship at Stillwater Equine Veterinary Clinic, where I immersed myself in the complexities of equine medicine and surgery. From ambulatory care to high-risk surgeries, every experience honed my skills and deepened my understanding of veterinary science.
Transitioning to small animal practice at other clinics provided me with a well-rounded perspective. Whether it was performing routine procedures or managing emergencies, I embraced each opportunity to make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners.
Favorite Part of my Job
As a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and veterinarian qualified by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, I remain committed to upholding the highest standards of veterinary care. Each day, I am reminded of the profound privilege it is to serve as an advocate for the well-being of animals, enriching lives one paw print at a time.
Why I chose this profession
Growing up amidst the equestrian world, with a mother who was a horse trainer and a father who was a chemical engineer, I inherited both a passion for caring for animals and an analytical mind suited for the challenges of veterinary medicine. My journey eventually led me to Cincinnati, where I've had the privilege of serving this great community and continuing my passion for animal health care. My professional experiences since coming to Cincinnati have allowed me to cultivate my passion for dentistry, ophthalmology, and soft tissue surgery, areas where I find both challenge and fulfillment.
Beyond clinical expertise, my approach to veterinary care is grounded in compassion and communication. Building trust with both patients and clients is paramount to me. I strive to empower pet owners with knowledge, ensuring they feel informed and supported in making decisions about their furry companions' health.
Personal Hobbies & Interests
Outside of the clinic, my love for animals extends to my personal life. From Arabian horses to my beloved pets Gertie, Zeus, Snicklefritz, and Wonder, animals are an integral part of my world. Alongside my husband and two daughters, I cherish moments spent cooking, gardening, and indulging in needlepoint.
