Veterinarian
Dr. Andy Hofeling doesn’t actually remember a time in his life when he didn’t want to be a veterinarian. For as long as he can remember, it was always just assumed that it was what he was meant to be. As he progressed through veterinary school, his attention to the physical details of healing and slant towards artistry made becoming a surgeon the obvious career choice.
Dr. Andrew Hofeling is board certified in surgery by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and has been practicing in Tacoma since 2006. Originally from Nebraska, Dr. Hofeling relocated to the Pacific Northwest from Michigan where he completed his surgical residency at Michigan Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Hofeling received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Nebraska. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University and completed an internship at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Hofeling’s professional interests include wound management and reconstruction, hepatic surgery, and orthopedics in addition to general surgery. He takes great care to spend ample time with his patients and their owners to assure they have a full understanding as to what options are available and how the recommended treatments can help their pets lead fuller lives.
In his free time, Dr. Hofeling enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, and skiing with his wife Laura and their extended family -- Border Collie "Hannah," Pomeranian “Sandie,” and their cat Beamer.
