Dr. David Steele is a distinguished veterinarian renowned for his unwavering commitment to the well-being of animals and the nurturing of the human-animal bond. Graduating with distinction from Auburn University, Dr. Steele earned his Bachelor of Science in microbiology in 1989, followed by his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine with honors from the esteemed College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University in 1992.
With a career spanning over three decades, Dr. Steele's passion for animal care led him through various roles in small animal practices and after-hours emergency care before settling in Mount Pleasant in 1994. Alongside his dedicated spouse, Dr. Leslie Steele, Dr. Steele co-founded the Charleston Cat Clinic in 1995, setting a benchmark for feline healthcare in the region.
In 2001, Drs. David and Leslie Steele embarked on a new chapter by founding Advanced Animal Care of Mount Pleasant, a beacon of excellence in veterinary care. Dr. Steele's practice philosophy revolves around general preventative medicine and wellness care, with a profound interest in behavioral medicine and fostering meaningful connections between pets and their human companions.

A natural educator at heart, Dr. Steele finds fulfillment in enlightening pet owners about the marvels of their animal companions. His distinctive approach to veterinary medicine is characterized by a blend of expertise, empathy, and a genuine zeal for teaching. Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Steele is a multifaceted individual with diverse interests. An amateur banjo player, he finds solace in music, alongside engaging in scholarly discussions on theology and philosophy. Dr. Steele is committed to holistic well-being and dedicates time to fitness, karate, and nurturing his native garden oasis.
At home, Dr. Steele cherishes precious moments with his family, including his beloved wife Leslie, and their two daughters, MaryLou and Olivia. Their household is enriched by the presence of numerous furry companions, embodying their unwavering devotion to animal welfare both personally and professionally.
