Veterinarian
Hi, I’m Dr. Dave Hutsebaut, an Associate Veterinarian at Veterinary Village. I graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. After completing veterinary school, I served on Active Duty in the US Army as a Veterinary Corps Officer from 2015-2019. During my time in the Army, I completed a year-long veterinary internship and served as Officer in Charge of a Veterinary Treatment Facility and Food Inspection Services at Fort Drum, NY. After my military service, I worked at Nature’s Preserve Pet Care in Sun Prairie from 2019-2020 before joining Veterinary Village in 2020. I am currently board-eligible for the American College of Veterinary Preventative Medicine and continue to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Favorite Part of my Job
My favorite aspect of veterinary care is preventative medicine. I believe in keeping pets healthy throughout their lives by addressing issues before they arise, which ultimately improves their quality of life. I also have a strong interest in soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and ultrasound, and I enjoy educating pet owners on topics like weight management and oral hygiene. I find that empowering owners with knowledge helps ensure their pets live long, healthy lives.
Why I chose this profession
I’ve always had a passion for the medical field, and veterinary medicine stood out to me because it offers such a wide variety of opportunities to practice in different areas. Whether it’s treating a beloved family pet or working on larger-scale public health issues during my time in the Army, I’ve found that veterinary medicine allows me to engage deeply in all aspects of health and care.
Personal Hobbies & Interests
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, whether it's snowboarding, camping, hiking, or canoeing. I’m also an avid shooter and coin collector, and I love playing video games. My time in the Army fostered a love for adventure and challenge, which I carry with me both in and out of the clinic.
