Veterinary Technician
Cymbree DeCosta was born and raised in Kula, Maui. At a young age she had many pets, including: horses, ponies, fishes, and dogs, which is where her love for animals began. She attended high school at Kamehameha Schools Maui Campus, then furthered her education in the state of Washington at Saint Martin’s University (SMU). She graduated from Saint Martin's with a Bachelor of Science in Biology while also playing volleyball and track and field.
After graduation from SMU, Cymbree decided to move to Oahu and attend Windward Community College to pursue her career aspiration to become a Veterinary Technician. In 2016 she graduated with her associates degree in Veterinary Technology at the top of her class; summa cum laude, and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society. She then passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam and is currently a licensed technician in the state of Washington.
When not spending time at the clinic with patients, Cymbree likes to play volleyball, get out and relax at the beach, enjoy various outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking, and loves to make inner island trips to Maui to spend time with her family and her parents’ English Bulldog named Lily.
Cymbree loves working with animals and help keeping them healthy. She treats each patient with love and care, just as if they were one of her own. Cymbree is a member of the Hawaii Veteriinary Technician Association and proud to be a part of the Kakaako Pet hospital team. With the new state bill passed for licensed veterinary technician, she is currently working on transferring her license to Hawaii.
