Veterinarian
Hi, I'm Dr. Audrey Hart! I graduated from Grinnell College in Iowa in 2017 with a BA in Biology and Art. During my undergraduate years and after graduation, I worked as a veterinary assistant at Hyde Park Animal Hospital, gaining invaluable hands-on experience. I then pursued my doctorate at Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2023, and joined the Orchard Road Animal Hospital team shortly thereafter. I was honored to receive ISU's Bob Rosenthall Senior Student Award for Proficiency in Clinical Oncology in 2023.
The team at Orchard Road Animal Hospital has an amazing sense of camaraderie, which makes each day enjoyable and rewarding. I also cherish getting to know my patients and their families on a personal level.
Favorite Part of my Job
I have a special interest in preventative and internal medicine. I enjoy the challenge of helping pets lead healthier, longer lives while strengthening the bond between them and their families.
Why I chose this profession
Veterinary medicine perfectly combines my passion for lifelong learning with my desire to care for animals and support the people who love them.
Personal Hobbies & Interests
In my free time, I enjoy watching soccer (football!) and women’s sports, as well as reading science fiction—Red Rising is a current favorite. I also love spending time with my dog, Tobin, and my cat, Clover, and attempting to coax my houseplants to flourish. Crochet is another hobby of mine, and I’m currently learning to quilt—though success has been slow!
