History
Dr. Chris Carmichael was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University in 2003. He then attended Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2009. Following veterinary school, he completed a rotating internship in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and surgery at Purdue University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital. After completing his internship, he moved to Fort Worth and began work as an overnight emergency veterinarian, where he stayed for just over 4 years until purchasing Dr. Doolittle's Animal Hospital, now named Highland Pointe Animal Hospital, in January of 2015. Dr. Carmichael has a special interest in surgery, wound care, and emergency medicine. When not at the hospital, he loves anything to do with the outdoors, restoring his 1966 Mustang, cooking (and eating, of course), biking, and relaxing with his wife Dr. Lauren Carmichael, their daughter Avery, and their kitty Jackson.
