History
Animal House Veterinary Hospital opened its doors for business in late November, 2009 as a new grass roots veterinary hospital in Southeastern Burke County, NC. The hospital was founded by Dr. E.J. Kennedy after several years of working at a variety of small animal practices in Tennessee and North Carolina. Dr. Kennedy also served on the emergency staff and later as the Medical Director for Emergency Operations at a 24-hour emergency and referral practice in Hickory, NC from 2002 until 2007. Dr Kennedy graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in June, 2000. He returned to school to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a Veterinarian in 1996 after a 13-year career as a Control Systems Engineer and Engineering Services Manager at a large, multi-national engineering firm. Dr. Kennedy integrated the best design features and operating procedures he encountered while working at various veterinary hospitals during his years of practice before making the transition to private practice ownership. Animal House Veterinary Hospital operates on the fundamental principal that every patient we serve will be treated with the same level of care and attention that any one of our employees would want for their own personal pets. Compassionate care for every single patient we serve is the essence of our practice philosophy. Animal House Veterinary Hospital utilizes a wide variety of sophisticated diagnostic tools including digital radiography and a comprehensive array of in-house laboratory equipment while remaining absolutely focused on the human-animal bond that is at the very core of the loving relationships we form with our animal companions. We recognize that many individuals consider their pets to be family members and we strive to provide the best possible care for our patients in a safe, welcoming, and fear-free environment at all times.
