Profile Claimed

Compassionate Care has achieved the highest level of veterinary excellence following a thorough evaluation by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Compassionate Care earned AAHA accreditation after a rigorous review of the hospital's practice protocols, medical equipment, facility and client service.

At our hospital, services are designed to provide routine preventative care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical and surgical care as deemed necessary throughout their lifetime.

We take great pride in helping pet parents make the best decisions possible for the well-being of their companions. We believe in Compassionate Care for the whole family and not just your pets, too!  Our innovative customer care program is structured to ensure less stress for you, the pet parent.  We communicate on your terms, whether it be phone, email, text or our new App to ensure convenience at every step.  We also track and remind pet parents about appointments, medications, food refills, or ongoing care issues so you have one less worry when it comes to managing your family.

Mission

It is our commitment to provide a small town family practice atmosphere while offering progressive "big town" medicine.

History

Dr. Trish Johnson is the proud owner of Compassionate Care Veterinary Hospital of Charlotte. Her love of animals has existed since childhood which ultimately led to her decision to become a veterinarian. She grew up in Oswego, NY and has been working with animals and the veterinary profession since 1995. Dr. Johnson graduated from Oswego Sate with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. She then attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.

After graduation, her journey continued in a large mixed animal emergency practice in upstate NY for 2 years working with cats, dogs, cows, horses, goats, and pocket pets.  In April, 2005, she joined Help The Cats, a charitable organization that  provides spay & neuter services for feral cats based out of Perry, New York.  She brought her spay/neuter clinic experience to the table and a shared concern for the rural feral and stray cats lovingly called "the forgotten ones". It was Dr. Johnson's vision to see that these animals were given at least one chance in their lifetime at quality veterinary care.

Dr. Johnson enjoys the challenges involved in practicing medicine and finds joy in educating and interacting with her clients.  By helping clients understand different aspects of medicine, she feels that their animals lives will improve greatly. She enjoys internal medicine, surgery, client education, and has a passion for veterinary medicine and the animals with which she works.
