Since 1999, animal-lovers have been the moving force behind the Pet Emergency Fund's efforts to actively seek and distribute charitable funds to save the lives of pets whose families live in Erie and Niagara Counties, NY and cannot afford emergency medical care.

Mission

Working swiftly and compassionately through veterinary hospitals in Erie and Niagara Counties, Pet Emergency Fund creates a lifeline of financial support for companion animals whose owners cannot afford the full burden of lifesaving and life-altering medical intervention and treatment.

History

The Niagara Frontier Veterinary Society's Pet Emergency Fund was established in 1999 to help people with financial needs afford pet care in emergency situations. To date the fund has helped veterinarians in Erie and Niagara Counties, NY provide care for over 6,450 pets. Funded entirely by charitable contributions, PEF has distributed over $692,000 to save the lives of viable pets and return them to their grateful families. All decisions concerning financial assistance are made independently through member veterinary hospitals.
