Companion Pet Hospital is owned and operated by Dr. Hope Jankunas and Dr. Jeremy Frederick. We provide the best service to our patients and clients by constantly improving and expanding our knowledge and skills. History
Dr. Jankunas and Dr. Frederick met at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where Dr. Jankunas attended veterinary school and Dr. Frederick completed his residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine. In 2010, Dr. Jankunas relocated to the Hudson Valley, where Dr. Frederick was practicing equine medicine. They were married in September 2013 and looking to become partners in business as well. It was their dream to have their very own veterinary practice, where they could provide excellent veterinary care for their local community.
Dr. Jankunas and Dr. Frederick became owners of Companion Pet Hospital of Fishkill in 2014 and Companion Pet Hospital of Carmel (formerly Animal Hospital of Kent) in 2016. They are excited to bring their enthusiasm and energy to the practices, while continuing to provide the same compassionate care that our clients have come to expect. Dr. Jankunas and Dr. Frederick are also the proud owners of Pawling Animal Clinic.
Our Veterinary Hospital Is AAHA Accredited
Companion Pet Hospital has been accredited by the prestigious American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) as a certified hospital member since 1987 and was recently recognized for practicing the gold standard of veterinary medicine for 25 consecutive years. Only 12 percent of all small animal hospitals in the U.S. have achieved accreditation by the Association, and it is an important milestone to delivering quality pet care. AAHA is the only organization in the U.S. and Canada that accredits companion animal hospitals based on standards that go above and beyond state regulations. The AAHA Standards of Accreditation, viewed as the standard of veterinary excellence, contain more than 900 individual standards, divided into 19 sections. These areas of focus include:
