History
Parkway Veterinary Hospital was established in 1986. Our goal is to provide the highest quality medical and surgical care possible. Our staff actively attends continuing education courses in order to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the veterinary field.
Dr. David Hirsch, a native of Royal Oak, Michigan, earned his undergraduate degree in natural sciences from Michigan State University. His affinity for animals and people and his love of science led him to Michigan State's College of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated in 1983. Three years later, he founded Parkway Veterinary Hospital.
Over the years, Dr. Hirsch has expanded his approach in veterinary medicine to include chiropractic and acupuncture. In 2001, he became certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association, followed by certification in acupuncture in 2002 and herbology in 2007, both from the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Reddick, Florida.Dr. Hirsch also earned his Master of Science Degree in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine at the Chi Institute, where he occasionally teaches acupuncture and spinal manipulation.
Dr. Hirsch loves the water, and when not working or teaching, he can be found scuba diving, open water swimming, fishing, kayaking, and traveling. He has a pug, Coleman, and 2 domestic shorthaired cats, Jack and Mugsy.
