History
Hillside Animal Hospital, originally City Animal Hospital, was started in 1946 by Dr. Norbert Schmelzer. It was one of the first veterinary hospitals in the city. Dr. Edward Migneco took over in 1986 shortly after graduation from the University of Missouri-Columbia. The hospital moved into its current building at 5325 Manchester Ave in 2001, increasing the facility space by 5 times. The original clinic building is now being used by Gateway Pet Guardians. The practice now supports three doctors providing veterinary care for numerous patients and rescue organizations.
