History
Established in 1977 by Dr.'s Tom and Jan Mehlhoff, South Shore Veterinary Hospital began its roots as a small town veterinary clinic that focused on exceptional diagnostic and surgical care. Dr. Tom's knowledge in clinical pathology and Dr. Jan's surgical skill guided the practice through its first thirteen years. In 1991, Dr. Jan left the field of veterinary medicine to become a Lutheran pastor, which opened the door for Dr.'s Dave and Ann Enright to come on board as partners. Their addition augmented the high level of excellence in medicine and surgery as both completed post doctorate studies as interns at The Animal Medical Center in New York City in 1987. Dr. Dave's interest in surgery also brought expansion of South Shore's surgical repertoire.
