Mission
At McAfee Animal Hospital, we have a team of pet-loving professionals who provide extensive veterinary care to cats and dogs alike. We put a strong focus on preventive care because by keeping pets healthy, we help them live longer, happier lives with you. Preventive care includes wellness check-ups, vaccinations, parasite prevention, dental care, spay/neuter surgery, nutrition, and so much more. Regular vet visits are essential for prevention illness from developing or progressing. History
Dr. John McAfee founded McAfee Animal Hospital in 1943. He graduated from Michigan State University and started out as a 100% large animal veterinarian. He added evening hours in 1948 from 7-8pm Mon, Wed, & Fri to treat small animals.John was a sole practitioner until 1975 when he added his son Larry as a junior partner. John retired in 1983 and spent his winters in Panama City Beach Florida and his summers in Autrain, Michigan with his wife Ellie. John passed away in 2002; he is missed and loved by all and we treasure his legacy.esides his family, which included his five sons and daughters, he lived to trout fish.
