History
The hospital was originally built by Dr. John Gillespie in 1952 as Gillespie Animal Hospital. Dr. Lawrence Fox and Dr. Wayne Juhnke renamed the building "River Forest Animal Hospital" and built a beautiful new facility just one block east of the original location in 1999.
River Forest Animal Hospital is a well-established, full service companion animal hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets, as well as early detection and treatment of diseases in senior animals.
We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local speciality practices when special diagnostic or surgical procedures are required. Our facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, ultrasound, a closely supervised hospitalization area and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking space.
At River Forest Animal Hospital we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for many years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.
