History
Founded in 1975 by Dr. Richard Velders, DVM, the caring and compassionate staff at Burr Ridge Veterinary Clinic has served the people and pets of Darien, Burr Ridge, Downers Grove, Westmont and surrounding areas for more than 40 years. BRVC's current co-owners Dr. Brian D. Rooney, DVM and Dr. Jeffrey D. Palmer, DVM, associate veterinarians, and the entire veterinary care team strive to provide the highest quality of medical care and personalized attention to our patients and their families.
Most of our doctors and veterinary care team members have worked at BRVC for more than 10 years which has allowed us to develop long-term relationships with clients and their pets. We value the special bond that pet parents have with their non-human family members and understand that every pet and its needs are unique.
We're proud to be the first clinic in DuPage County with Fear Free Certified Professionals who have been trained so that all of our patients experience a calmer and less stressful visit. We educate clients so they can understand the benefits of preventative health care as well as treatment options when their pet requires non-routine medical care. Our distinctive services include in-home veterinary visits on selected Mondays each month, behavior assessment and counseling, a full range of cardiac diagnostic equipment, complimentary pet weight management counseling, chemotherapy, and therapeutic laser treatment.
