History
Atlantic Animal Hospital in Ormond Beach has been caring for animals alongside their people since 1972. In July 2005, Dr. Aman Sukhija purchased Atlantic Animal Hospital. After a few months, he began investing in better technology and greater staff education to obtain higher patient care and client service. Improvements included the installation of a full in-hospital laboratory, digital radiology and electronic medical records. Renovation of the facility included creation of a sole-purpose surgical suite, an isolation facility and more functional exam rooms, pharmacy and waiting room. After the changes, Atlantic Animal Hospital in Ormond Beach emerged as the efficient full service veterinary hospital we know today.
Digital dental radiology was added to our services in early 2009. Dr. Amy Long joined our team in August 2009, allowing us to expand hours of operation to seven days. Dr. Long has a strong interest in avian and exotic species, so specialized equipment was added to serve these pets. Dr. Sukhija added extensive orthopedic surgery services with all new equipment in the fall of 2009.
In February 2010, a second location, Atlantic Animal Hospital South, was opened in Port Orange, Florida. The new practice provides the Port Orange area with the latest technologies in diagnostics, surgical, dental, and medical care. This facility also features separate high end wards for cat, dogs, birds, and other exotic species of animals. Cats get their own "condos" with outside views, dog can have large runs with glass doors, and other species can also stay at our facility comfortably in a separate room.
Our Ormond Beach practice has been American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Accredited for over 3 years and the Port Orange Hospital achieved certification in 2010. AAHA accreditation means that we meet high standards of veterinary practice and get inspected on these routinely. Visit www.healthypet.com for more information about AAHA Accreditation.
