History
Boca Palms Animal Hospital originated as Boca Animal Clinic and was one of the first veterinary hospitals in Boca Raton about half a century ago. It was initially founded by pioneer veterinarian Dr. Jack Haggard in the late 1960's. After providing excellent veterinary care for over 20 years, the practice was taken over by Dr. Arthur Malernee, who continued to manage the practice into the late 1980's.
A few years later, a recent veterinary school graduate, Dr. Paul H. Jaffe, who had worked at the clinic as a veterinary technician, purchased the practice in 1995 and further developed into one of the most renowned veterinary hospitals in the area. Jaffe Animal Clinic became a well-established small animal veterinary clinic focusing on personalized veterinary care and surgery for the surrounding area.
In February 2013, Dr. Daniel Sosa took ownership of the Jaffe Animal Clinic. He continued with a similar philosophy along with adding an infusion of emergency and critical care medicine. Dr. Sosa emphasizes a full-service veterinary practice with cutting edge diagnostics and treatments tailored to the pet and owner's needs with a hallmark of exceptional pet healthcare and client service. In September 2015, the clinic was renamed Boca Palms Animal Hospital reflecting a new approach to veterinary service for the twenty first century.
