History
In 1954, Dr. William V. Gallery founded Windcrest Animal Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. The building we operate in was once owned by the Zebley family.
Dr. Bruce Damme started working in the practice in 1982 and purchased the hospital upon Dr. Gallery's retirement in 1983. In 1993, Dr. Donna Namey began working in the practice, followed by Dr. Morgan Dawkins in 1998. In 2003, Drs. Namey and Dawkins became partners with Dr. Damme.
Since our start in a small house with just one doctor, our practice has grown into a full-service hospital with 15 veterinarians. Our facility has had several major renovations to create a comprehensive and advanced medical and surgical center for our patients.
We offer a 24-hour emergency facility, full laboratory and pharmacy, and x-ray and surgical areas. Most diagnostic and treatment procedures can be handled within our hospital. We also have boarding and grooming departments, as well as an in-house adoption center.
