History
Dr. Paul Hess grew up on Air Force bases in Wyoming, Alaska, Maine and South Carolina before coming to California in the mid 60's. He graduated from Fairfield High School, then Northern Arizona University before getting his DVM at UC Davis in 1980. While in Davis, Paul met Mary Ann and they were married in 1981. In January, 1982, Paul and Mary Ann moved to Napa to join Pete Morse, DVM at Silverado Veterinary Hospital. Pete had opened the practice in 1978 and was a principal mentor for Paul for years to come. They became partners in the practice in 1988 and Paul purchased the rest when Dr Morse retired in 2006. Paul enjoys the relationships developed with clients and education as an integral part of providing the best care for their pets. He loves working with animals and the variety and challenges general practice provides. Over the years he has developed a special interest in surgery, ultrasound, ophthalmology and preventative medicine but still savors all facets of the profession.
