Share a few sentences about your professional background and what drew you to GeniusVets.

I started in Veterinary medicine in 2017 when we moved back to our hometown. I started in the kennels, like many do. From there I was trained in patient care, laboratory work, helping the DVMs in the exam rooms, surgical assistant, and eventually dental care. For a bit of time, I did cross-train at the front of the house as a receptionist. My favorite part of any interaction was with the clients. I loved helping to educate them on their pet's care, and to help them be successful in caring for their pets after a procedure, life change, or getting acquainted with their new pet. I was able to take the lead for our clinic's social media needs. I loved that I could still assist our clients through these outlets.

What drew me to GeniusVets is their company culture. Everyone who works for the company is amazing and wants the best for their clients. I am grateful for the opportunity to help spread their positive culture and continue to help the veterinary community.

What do you love about your role? If you're new to the team, what drew you to this specific role?

I am excited to help veterinary practices share how amazing they are! Many privately owned DVMs are busy with their day-to-day running the practice and delivering top-notch care to their local community. They often do not have time to work on their marketing, social media presence, or their website. Helping these practices share their story and how much they care about their community can make a big impact on their business and can take one extra duty off of their shoulders.

Family Info

I am blessed to be married to my high school sweetheart. Shortly after we were married, Tony joined the Air Force, and we were off on our adventure together. Through his 13-year career, we grew to a family of 6, with 4 amazing children. We lived all across the United States and overseas for a few years in England. While we loved the opportunities this brought our family, I always dreamed of returning to my hometown. We were able to make this dream a reality in 2016. I always tease that they get to have the best of both worlds, growing up as military kids and living life in a small town.

Like most people who work in a clinic setting, I have acquired a few extra pets along the way. I have 3 golden retrievers (Faith, Grace and Minnie), a goldendoodle (Orion), a chihuahua (Dobby), a scottish terrier (Nes), and two cats (Mouse and Rabbit). Each are quirky and fun in their own unique way. Minnie is my constant companion and is typically found sleeping under my desk as I work or tagging along for an adventure.

Passions or hobbies outside of work

Outside of work, you will find me spending time with my family. We are country people at heart and spend time outdoors. We like playing baseball, tossing toys for our pups, or simply enjoying a nature walk. Our schedule gets to be busy during the school year with extracurricular activities. At least one weekend a month you will find us attending rabbit shows.

What is one thing you've done that most people have likely never experienced?

I was able to pick apples at the Queen's private orchard in England.

On a Sunday morning, you'll find me…

Enjoying a cup of coffee and spending time with Minnie until everyone wakes up.
