Dr. Pierre DePorre is the son of practice founder Pierre Louis DePorre. Dr. Pierre graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the same university. As a veterinarian, he has a special interest in surgery and dentistry.
Beyond his work at the animal hospital, Dr. Pierre is a surgeon for the Mazunte Turtle Project, a dog spay/neuter project in Mexico which has helped decrease the population of stray dogs that eat the turtle eggs and hatchlings on the beaches where endangered sea turtles nest.
Additionally, as an avid bicyclist, Dr. Pierre annually rides in the 300-mile "Make a Wish" fundraising event for seriously ill children. His other interests include yoga and refurbishing bicycles. Dr. Pierre is married to Dr. Deborah DePorre.
